Digital and hand stitched wool felt
The project explored the layered stories of Britain’s oldest town, commemorating personal experiences and celebrating the incidental marks people leave. Archive stories and town plans were stitched into the works along with the marks added by participants, creating patterns and textures that served to embellish some tales and obscure others, constructing layers of history.
Community participants included firstsite gallery visitors, Untitled (after school club for young people), Bumps and Babes toddler group and local school groups.
